Enric Castelló is Professor of Media and Journalism Studies at the Department of Communication Studies at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (Catalonia, Spain) and a member of Asterisc Research Group. Castelló got his Ph D at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Before being fully involved in academic life, he developed positions as event and media relations officer at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya and as consultant for some educational projects. He also worked for La Vanguardia Digital and collaborated with diverse media companies. Visiting researcher at Loughborough University and at Glasgow Caledonian University, he delivered specific seminars for MA or Ph students in Belgium, Portugal or Sweden. His articles are published by international journals like European Journal of Communication (Article of the Year Award 2007); Media, Culture & Society; Journalism; Journalism Studies; European Journal of Cultural Studies, Memory Studies, Journal of Consumer Culture, Food, Culture and Society, or Journal of Rural Studies,among others, as well as in volumes for major publishing houses like Routledge, Palgrave McMillan or Edinburgh University Press, among others. His research interests are related to mediatization processes, journalism studies and media and culture analysis. He is currently interested in topics like media storytelling an denominations of origin, representations of the rural, the commons and the problem of wildfires.
