
Enric Castelló is Professor of Journalism and Media Analysis at the Department of Communication Studies at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (Catalonia, Spain) and member of Asterisc Research Group. He got his PhD at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Before being fully involved in academic life, he worked at the press office of the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya and for La Vanguardia Digital. He was visiting researcher at Loughborough University and at Glasgow Caledonian University, and delivered seminars at universities in Belgium, Portugal, Sweden or Norway. His articles are published by international journals like European Journal of Communication (Article of the Year Award 2007); Media, Culture & Society; Journalism; Journalism Studies; European Journal of Cultural Studies; Memory Studies; Journal of Consumer Culture; Food, Culture and Society; Journal of Rural Studies or Geoforum among others, as well as in volumes for publishing houses like Routledge, Palgrave McMillan or Edinburgh University Press, among others. He is currently interested in topics like media storytelling, geographical indications, representations of the rural, the commons and the issue of wildfires.
