I am Associate Professor at the Department of Communication Studies at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (Catalonia, Spain) and a member of Asterisc Research Group. I am accredited to Full Professor positions for the Spanish HE system by ANECA (2018) and I am currently coordinating the Ph D in Anthropology and Communication at URV.
I was graduated by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, where I completed my Ph D thesis. Before being fully involved in academic life, I developed positions as event and media relations officer at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya and as a consultant for some projects in education and communication. I also was journalist and project manager for media companies like La Vanguardia Digital.
I was visiting researcher for short periods of time at Loughborough University and at Glasgow Caledonian University. I delivered specific seminars for MA or Ph students in Belgium, Portugal or Sweden. My articles are published by international journals like European Journal of Communication (Article of the Year Award 2007); Media, Culture & Society; European Journal of Cultural Studies, Memory Studies, Journal of Consumer Culture, Narrative Inquiry, International Journal of Communication, International Communication Gazette, as well as in volumes for major publishing houses like Routledge, Palgrave McMillan or Edinburgh University Press, among others.
I was the coordinator of the Master in Strategic Communication at URV (2015-2019). My research interests are related to mediatization processes, organizational communication and storytelling applied to specific societal challenges. I am currently interested in topics like denominations of origin, representations of the rural, the commons and the problem of wildfires.
I like trail running, philosophy, music, geography and nature. I feed a blog (in Spanish) about communication and organizations inspired in my book Comunication y ser de la organización [Communication and being of the organizations] (Tirant lo Blanch Humanidades, 2019).
